Why Supplements?

We Believe Good Nutrition is the Basis for Great Health

Unfortunately, the world isn’t the same as it was 50 years ago

Increase in artificial chemicals & additives in food

Decrease in minerals in soil means less of the key nutrients in food

Increase in pollutants & toxins in air, water, food

How Have These Changes Affected Our Children?

Researchers tested umbilical cord blood at the moment of birth, from 12 mothers from 12 different states in the US and found

(that’s blood the mom & baby shared for 9 months) 180 of those pollutants may cause cancer, birth defects or brain/nervous system issues

Environmental Toxicity

BodyBurden_1.png
In the first study of its kind, conducted by the Environmental Working Group (an American-based research organization) in 2005, an average of 285 toxic pollutants were found in the umbilical cord blood of each newborn baby at the moment of birth. The blood samples came from babies born in U.S. hospitals in August and September of 2004.

“Of the 287 chemicals we detected in umbilical cord blood, we know that 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests.”
Environmental Working Group. 2005 Jul 14.

Consequences:

Hormonal disruption, immune disruption, brain disruption

  • Researchers conclusively linked air pollution exposure before birth with lower IQ scores in childhood. The children of the mothers exposed to the most pollution before birth scored on average four to five IQ points lower than children with less exposure.

  • Air pollution has chronic, adverse effects on pulmonary development in children. Longitudinal studies conducted in Europe and the United States have demonstrated that exposure to air pollution is associated with reductions in the growth of lung function and size.

  • Longitudinal study from Arctic Russia shows a 100% increase in birth defects from 1973 to 2011 with the most prevalent group of defects being malformations of the musculoskeletal system, which represented 35.4% of all birth defects, and the most prominent increase was observed for the urinary system, rising from 0.2 per 1000 to 19.1 per 1000.
