Dr. Murray Clarke,

D.Hom., M.Hom., L.Ac.

Founder + President

Dr. Murray Clarke, the developer of ChildLife Essentials®, holds licenses and doctorates in three fields of medicine: naturopathic medicine, homeopathic medicine and Chinese medicine (including acupuncture and herbology).

He moved to the United States from New Zealand 35 years ago and has since become a pioneer in the field of holistic pediatrics.

He blends a number of medical modalities including homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine and clinical nutrition to help patients with hard-to-treat conditions. He has become the “go-to” doctor for pediatricians whose standard pharmaceutical approaches haven’t been successful.

Dr. Murray Clarke continues to focus his experience, treatments and quest for knowledge on how to treat and prevent childhood illness at its root cause.

Dr. Katie Friedman


Dr. Katie Friedman is a board certified pediatrician, writer, spokesperson, and mother.

Dr. Friedman completed her residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. She currently practices pediatric emergency medicine in South Florida. She divides most of her working hours between the emergency room and the blog she created with her sisters,, where she serves as an educator and spokesperson.

Using her passion for preventive medicine and pediatric safety, Dr. Friedman has worked alongside several brands and companies, to guide parents through obstacles of childhood safety, illness prevention, and pediatric medicine. In addition to her hospital work and writing obligations, she also serves as a medical correspondent for Lifetime’s Access Health and The Balancing Act.

In her free time, Dr. Friedman loves spending time with her family, traveling, and early morning runs!

Dr. Nicole Avena

Expert in Childhood Nutrition

Dr. Nicole Avena is a research neuroscientist and expert in the fields of nutrition, diet and addiction, with a special focus on nutrition during early life and pregnancy. Her research achievements have been honored by awards from several groups including the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Psychological Association, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Dr. Avena has written several books, including What to Eat When You’re Pregnant, What to Feed Your Baby and Toddler and What to Eat When You Want to Get Pregnant. She regularly appears as a science expert on the Dr. Oz Show, Good Day NY, and The Doctors, as well as many other news programs.  She has the #2 most watched TED-ED Health talk, How Sugar Affects Your Brain.

Michele McCarthy


Michele McCarthy is a Nutritionist with an expertise in child nutrition and food allergies. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo, she entered the nutrition world with a passion for child and maternal nutrition. She currently lives in San Luis Obispo and works in a children’s center as the Food Program Director where she runs a federally funded food program. This program serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack while complying with strict nutrition standards. In addition to her experience with child nutrition, she has a background in nutrition counseling and food service in a clinical setting. In these positions, she was able to expand her knowledge on food allergies and dietary restrictions and is passionate about adapting food to cater to all people.

Adam Sutter

VP Quality & Scientific Affairs

Adam Sutter has been with ChildLife Essentials® since 2014, and currently serves as the Vice President of Quality and Scientific Affairs wherein he leads the Quality, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs departments.

Adam has over 15 years of experience within the food, pharmaceutical, and dietary supplement industries, during which he focused on pediatric nutrition, product development, FDA regulations, quality principles, and industry-best practices in his daily work. At ChildLife®, Adam uses this knowledge to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of each and every ChildLife Essentials® product.

Adam has experience with FDA, USDA, and NSF audits, and is a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).

Katherine Cole

R&D Manager

Katherine leads Research and Development efforts at ChildLife Essentials®. She is responsible for bringing together the latest science, technology, and premium ingredients to deliver innovative products in children’s health. Her passion for discovering where science and health intersect began while earning her degree at the University of California, Berkeley in Integrative Human Biology.
